Enter Contributions --- have added a giver --- can SEE that person IN the system - but when we click on them (using the search tool) or even manually input the new number --- it comes up blank... but we can see find that person using the Integrated Data & Personal Profiles & basically any other search ... but it will NOT let us input that number into Contributions Screen.
Anyone ??

Re: Contributions not reading Integrated Data Info
Check the personal profile, is the number assigned there? Run a Contributions Envelope Numbers List, is it listed there? If both answers are yes, but the number when entered into the Enter Contributions screen does not work, then check for a few things:KarinK22 wrote:Enter Contributions --- have added a giver --- can SEE that person IN the system - but when we click on them (using the search tool) or even manually input the new number --- it comes up blank... but we can see find that person using the Integrated Data & Personal Profiles & basically any other search ... but it will NOT let us input that number into Contributions Screen.

1. Run a reindex of all the databases. This can usually fix a few issues. Try to add a contribution for this person there.
2. If that didn't work, see if the reassign envelope number function works with that number. Move the number to 4000, and see if that brings up the information using the Enter Contributions screen, if that doesn't work. There may be other issues with the database and you may need to call the Powerchurch techs directly.

Re: Contributions not reading Integrated Data Info
Thanks!
I tried both --- again, I can "look up" the number -- it shows - but when I click it - nothing shows up to try to change it to a different #
There was an error message when I reindexed --- "access denied"
I guess I'll give the Tech guys a call!
Thanks for the suggestions though!

Re: Contributions not reading Integrated Data Info
If you tried to index, and you got an access denied, that tells me that the permissions on the directory are wrong. Are you running over a network ??KarinK22 wrote:Thanks!

Also, what access permissions do you have in Powerchurch ??

Yes - we are over a network.
Re: Contributions not reading Integrated Data Info
So I just made sure nobody was on --- reindexed again -- and now got this message
•Transaction detail key duplicated
•Transaction detail key duplicated
•Transaction detail key duplicated

Re: Contributions not reading Integrated Data Info
HOWEVER -- I can NOW post to those other numbers that weren't showing up!
Phew!
Thanks!

Re: Contributions not reading Integrated Data Info
Yes, a reindex requires no one else on. The two detail key duplicates may be an issue in Funds Accounting, and you may want to call the techs on that, but unless you're seeing an issue in Funds Accounting, it may not be necessary.KarinK22 wrote: So I just made sure nobody was on --- reindexed again -- and now got this message

Its always a good idea to reindex at least once a month. You can set that up to work automatically as long as you leave the 'server' computer running all the time by setting up a recurring task in the Task Manager.
This Knowledgebase article:
https://www.powerchurch.com/support/438 ... -fall-2014
gives a step by step instructions on setting up tasks. There is a link in that article that covers all the automated tasks that can be setup for PCPlus.

Thanks so much!
I think I'll try that auto reindexing!
