We are currently beginning a pledge drive, and I had a few questions
1. Are their any drawbacks for using PC to track pledges (as opposed to a separate spreadsheet)?
2. Is there way to record the fact that some people want to do a one time gift and a recurring monthly gift?
3. What are the advantages to using PC to track pledges?
Thanks for your help.

1. I've not found any ... you can actually get better reports, and since all the member data is in the system, that eliminates having to export data, create a spreadsheet, and so on. Not to mention, it has better security.
2. Yes
3. See item 1, plus the pledges are tracked in the system, and the progressive fulfillment (or non-fulfillment) of the pledge can be easily tracked using built in reports, and each contributor is informed of their totals whenever you print and deliver their contribution statement.

Re: Pledge Questions
Neil,
Thank you for your response, it has been extremely helpful. Regarding the one time and ongoing monthly, I need a little direction, here is the situation.
We are currently beginning our building campaign, we have a member who wants to pledge the following: $100 one time to the building and $25 monthly to the building.

Re: Pledge Questions
Since you can't have two pledges for the same fund in the same period this should work. The example is for a year Jan 1 2015 thru Dec 31 2015:MWH wrote:Neil,

Enter one pledge for the period 01/01/2015 thru 01/02/2015 for $100, then create a pledge from 01/03/2015 thru 12/31/2015 for $25 a month.
This way they will both show up on the contributor's statement, and when you run reports, it will pick up both pledges.
