Is there a way to edit multiple unposted contributions?

Post by TomS »

Hi I accidentally got my dates confused when entering a lot of contributions. If there a way to edit everything to the correct date without having to individually go to each transaction?

Um ... are you worried about the dates for the Contribution Statement, or the date to reflect the deposit in Funds Accounting?

If its the latter, you can change the contribution transaction in the Funds Accounting unposted transaction queue. If its the former, there's no easy way to change the dates except one by one.

This is why I make multiple backups. I have had to rebuild from backups, as much as a few months, so I make a backup every time I finish the day's work. It's so easy, there is no reason not to.
Also, for the time being, since I am new to PC+, I backup before posting contributions, so that if something goes wrong with the deposit, or there is a mistake in the contributions, I can go back by merely restoring the last backup.
I run into a new mistake just about every week, LOL, so I need backups.

You can setup Powerchurch to automatically backup using the Windows Task Scheduler. I have it setup to do a backup on Sunday afternoon after the contributions counters have counted and entered the data into the system.

Here's a tutorial - it talks about Win8, but it works with Win 10 also:
