Saving as Word document

Post by CrossPoint Toledo »

I know that regular reports can be saved in Word format. But I don't see a Word output choice for custom reports. The choices in Output Direction are Printer, Disk file, and Screen. The Disk file option is just a .txt file, with no formatting, plus some of the data is clipped.

When I show it on screen, it is formatted correctly, but all the options to Save, Save As, etc. are greyed out and can't be used.

How can I save a custom report into Word format?

Thanks,
Mike DeLong

You can't. This is a third party module, and that is not one of the options that module has. You can save to an Excel spreadsheet, then from there to Word. This is something that they have tried to replace, but when they did, it broke other things in the system.

I wish I could give you a better result. Do you really need it in Word?

You can install a free PDF printer, like DoPDF, and print from PowerChurch to a PDF file. Later versions of Word can open and edit PDFs directly.

Actually, I want to put it in Publisher. I want to print a custom directory, landscape, booklet form. I want to print it front and back so the proper pages are next to each other - something Publisher easily does. But maybe it's possible through PowerChurch - I'm still learning things about custom reports.

I'll try that.
