Bank reconciliation date not changing

Bank reconciliation date not changing

Why doesn't the reconciliation date not change after doing the monthly bank reconciliation? I reconcile my bank statement every month but when I go to do the next reconciliation, it still comes up with February 29th as the statement date.
I am using the latest version of the program and have installed all the maintenance releases.

Are you changing your open month each month ??

I am not sure what you mean by changing the open month. I change the working month each month but don't know of any other changes that need to be made. This only started happening this year. Before that it always changed after I reconciled the bank statement.

Ok .. so the working month is changed each month.

I'm not seeing that behavior here. Does everything reconcile properly otherwise?

I'm going to suggest something that fixes a lot of minor glitches, have you done a reindex lately? If not, try running one.

Yes, the bank statement has reconciled properly each month in the 4 years I have been using the program. But statement date has been stuck on February since I reconciled February's statement.
I have to manually change the statement date each month when I do the reconciliation.

I just reindexed the program and the reconciliation date still shows 2/29/2016.

Well ... unless its really causing a problem, I wouldn't worry about it.

However, as I've not seen anyone else have this issue, I'm going to suggest that its something local to your installation.

You could always do a backup, uninstall the program, then reinstall it, apply the latest MR, and then restore the backup to see what then happens.

Still, I'll notify one of the Powerchurch techs to take a look a this thread, maybe they'll have some insight.

This sounds like the program is having problems updating one of the data files.

When you run the Bank/Credit Card Reconciliation report, do you see all of your past reconciliations listed? This report can be found under Accounting > Fund Accounting > Reports - Fund Accounting.

The report refers back to the same data file that the reconciliation screen looks at.

In either case, it would probably be best that you give us a call at (800) 486-1800 and speak with a technician about this.

FYI - the date doesn't change for me either. I have to change it each month.

I called into tech support and they fixed the problem.
You still have to change the date each month, but when you go into the reconciliation function, it should show the last date you performed a reconciliation.
My problem was that the date displayed always showed 2/29/16.

I am having this same problem. My bank reconciliation for August has not cleared. All the data is still in the reconciliation even though I have finalized everything for August.

OK ... you've done your reconciliation, marked all your cleared items from your bank statement, and clicked on the DONE button?
I take it you've done your reconciliations from Sept thru November too ??

If the answer to those questions is yes, then I'd suggest you call the Powerchurch support line directly, as you may have the same issue that eagle654b was having.
