moving money within asset accounts

How do I move money from our general account into a savings account. I already have an asset account set up for savings

If the accounts are both in the same fund, meaning the account numbers both start with 01- or the same two digits, then you can enter a transaction in Fund Accounting that credits the account the money is moving from and debit the account the money is moving to. For example:

01-1110-000 Checking (credit) $100.00
01-1210-000 Savings (debit) $100.00

If the accounts are in two different accounting funds, you would need to set up and use transfer accounts as detailed in the article linked below.
