Change name of Sunday School Class

We are in the process of renaming our Sunday school Classes. When I go into Setup -Maintain Activity & Skill Descriptions and keep the same number but change the name, what all does it change? Does it change the name of the class in everyone's attendance history? Or does it show as the new name from the time of change forward in a person's attendance history? Would it be easier to use a new number with the new class name and treat it as another class and move everyone from the old class to the new one (mass )? I am just checking to know what to expect. Any advice is appreciated.

Yes, it changes the name in the entire history as the name is associated with that number. If you want to keep the history with the old name, you should start with a new name.
