I want to have a diverse Powerchurch operation at our church. Therefore; I think a office network setup will move the church in that direction. So my question is does a network require a special computer and cables etc.? If you have setup a network share with me your experience. I will be appreciative.

Re: Network Setup
Powerchurch does not require any specific network setup other than standard Microsoft File and Print Sharing, which comes built in to Windows XP, as well as Win98/ME/2000 .TBM wrote:I want to have a diverse Powerchurch operation at our church. If you do not currently have a network setup at your church, its best to determine where you want to have the computers, and how you are going to connect them, either wired (Ethernet or powerline), or wireless; then find someone in church with networking experience to help install.
As far as needing a special server, there is no requirement for one, however, you will need to select a computer as the 'server' for Powerchurch, all other's will be clients.
FInal note, IMHO ... this question and answer should be moved to the General Question area, as it is a general question and not specifically a contributions question. Just a nitpik, as I used to be a sysop on another forum.
