exporting to excel

Post by wandam »

I have been having problems with data I export to Excel from Power Church 9. It sends data in merged cells which cannot be used for calculations unless the merged formating is changed and this can lead to a lot of other editing -- too time consuming. What happened to the rather clean transfers we used to get in former versions of PowerChurch? Has anyone else worked this problem with transfering accouting reports to Excel?

It is a problem with the reporting tool used internally. It has been recognized by the third party (Crystal Reports). We are in the process of considering options on how to get this to work the expected way.

I found a little trick that seems to work for this problem. I copy and past the exported spreadsheet into a new blank worksheet and it then becomes workable. One extra step, and the format may not be exact, but you can then use it as you wish.

Sorry,

Last post is wrong. I just tried it again to make sure I was correct and it turns out I was not. I thought I had gotten it to work somehow. I will look back at some of my previous exports and see if I can find out if really did make it work. This could be a new type of senior moment. Remembering something you thought you did but didn't.

Did some research and found out it was a custom report that I was able to make work in Excel.
