Editing Payroll: changing Salary Amount
Payroll was already set up when I began using power church soft ware. My Pastor has received a raise in pay and I don't know how to edit his account. Can some one help please. (step by step if you don't mind) Thanks ever so much!

I'm assuming that you're using version 11.x here:Patricia wrote:Payroll was already set up when I began using power church soft ware. My Pastor has received a raise in pay and I don't know how to edit his account. Can some one help please. (step by step if you don't mind) Thanks ever so much!
1. Head to Payroll, open the Maintain List of Employees function.
2. Find the pastor in the list of employees.
3. On the Pay Items tab, find his Salary item and select it and click on the EDIT button.
4. Change the salary amount to the new salary, divided by the number of times he gets paid. If he's paid twice a month, divide his monthly salary by 2. So if he gets 2000 a month, he get 1000 per paycheck.
5. Click the OK button.
6. A pop up will appear saying "Salary has changed ... ", it is asking you if you want to show the change in the employee's salary history. Click on the yes button.
7. You're done!
As you can see, its very simple.

Re: Editing Payroll: changing Salary Amount
Thank you. Will that adjust the taxes also, or do I have to do that separately?
Re: Editing Payroll: changing Salary Amount
Tax calculations are automatic as long as you have the tax tables setup and tax pay items assigned. The only adjustment you may have to make is if the minister wishes to have extra withholding taken out to cover his self-employment tax which you do on his Federal Income Tax pay item.Patricia wrote:Thank you.
