Balance Sheet and Income and Expense statement

Post by bcanada@myrhinomail.com »

Each month when I print out the Balance Sheet and Income & Expense statements, I have a NET Assets, Excess Income/Expense that is minus figure. I do not know why I keep getting Excess Income/Expense amount which is a negative number. Your help would be appreciated.

These are two different reports.

Income & Expense will show a negative for the month or year because you've got more expenses than income.

Net Assets are found on the Balance Sheet, not the I&E. On the Balance Report it will show negative for the same reason you see a negative Excess Income/Expenses, expenses all close to the Unrestricted Net Assets. However if the Assets are equal to the Total liabilities & equity, the books are balanced, even if in negative numbers.

Not knowing much else about your system or how your have your books setup, not much else can be commented on.
