The 6/1/2005 maintenance release is now available for download. There has been a major change in this one - we changed the version of Crystal Reports we are using, so every single report had to be altered. The exports to Word and Excel are now more like they were in 8.5, so that should make a lot of folks happy. Several other things have been fixed as well, but we don't have the official announcement finalized yet, so I'll post that when it's ready.

We're purposefully holding off on emailing everyone on our list of folks who have signed up to be notified. That will go out a little later. I'm letting the forum regulars know first so you guys can go ahead and get it now. We did extensive testing on this (basically every report had to be retested), but if you find any issues, please let us know at support@powerchurch.com.

Thanks!

As promised, the release announcment for the 6/1 release.

Code: Select all

ISSUES CORRECTED IN THIS MAINTENANCE RELEASE
Here are some of the issues that have been changed or corrected in this Maintenance Release.

With the initial release of Version 9, we began using a new version of Crystal Reports for generating the built-in reports. We did this in order to add additional export options and to improve the appearance of the reports when they are exported. A small number of users reported getting "logon failed" errors when trying to run reports and a few experienced printing problems. Among these problems was an issue which caused characters to appear overlapped on some reports. In addition, one of the side effects of upgrading to a new version of Crystal Reports was that a report saved in Word format was more difficult to edit. Because of these issues and user feedback, we have now changed back to an earlier Version of Crystal Reports. This should correct almost all the printing problems users have experienced and it will still be possible to save reports in all the formats Version 9 currently offers. In addition, even though you will lose some of the formatting when you save a built-in report in Word format, it will now be much easier to edit.

With the last Maintenance Release for Version 9, the city, state and zip code would no longer print on statements printed under Accounts Receivable.

Also with the last Maintenance Release, when the Income and Expense Statement report was run with multiple columns of information, the actual amounts would not always print.

If you ran the Account Activity report and chose to include unposted transactions and there weren't any, you would get an error message and the program would close.

If you added a user and did not give them access to Personal Profiles, they could still access those records by going to the Family Members tab of the Integrated Data Entry screen.

The Tax Table report in Payroll would round percentages to two decimal places even though three decimal places had been entered. This did not cause a problem with tax calculations, however.

Version 9 Mintenance Release

Post by bobfree »

We are in the process of upgrading to Version 9. The CD we just received has June 1, 2005 on the label. Does this one include all current Maintenance Releases or are there any others that I need to download to be current?

Thanks,
Bob

When you open the program, and go to HELP > About Powerchurch Plus, on the System Information tab it will show the date of the program. If the CD images they use have been refreshed, the program date will reflect a date of June 1st 2005. This shows that you are up to date and need not apply any Maintenance Releases.

The label on the CD should reflect the build date, so it sounds like you're ok. To double-check, just do like Neil advises.
