Got a question or comment about PowerChurch that doesn't belong anywhere else? Why not post it here!?

Get rid of the macros

Post by John Dykema »

I'm using v03/13/2018 PC+11
I'm trying to create a macro in the Membership section. when I start it and press Alt+m it does not bring down the Membership menu but it shows a box in the upper right corner saying "Macro suspended F12 to resume".
I must have an old macro in there but want to delete it. Going thru it and pressing "Discard" does not seem to delete the macro.
How can I delete all/any macro that may be lying in the shadows?
Thanks, John

John, this is from the v12 help, but I don't think it has changed from v11 (or earlier):

To change or delete a macro:

1.Press F12. Press the keystroke for the macro you want to change.
2.Click OK.
3.Click the appropriate button on the Overwrite Macro screen.
·Overwrite. You can click this button for one of two reasons. Click it if you want to erase the keystrokes in the macro and replace them with new ones. You can also use this button to delete the macro and its keystroke.
·Append Keystrokes. Click this button if you want to add new keystrokes to the ones that currently make up the macro.
4.If you are adding new keystrokes to the macro, record them now. If you are deleting the macro keystroke, do not do anything.
5.Press F12.

OK, that seemed to work. Seems like someone else has done some macros too.
Now, is there a way to see a list of all the macros that have been created?
Thanks Neil

Pardon me Neil, but I went to the Knowledge Base and typed MACRO and got only one thing but it was irrelevant to macros.
Is there another online help? Thank you.

I don't see a way to list the macros or edit them outside of the F12 interface in PowerChurch.

This is native VFP functionality and not something written by us. The macros are stored in a file in the PowerChurch\PCPLUSXX folder called PC.FKY. I tried opening it with a text editor and wasn't able to glean any information from it. I found a file structure published online that indicates you won't be able to easily edit the file.

If you wanted to clear out all the existing macros, you can just delete that PC.FKY file. PowerChurch will automatically create a new file on startup.
