Changing name, can you help?

We are in the process of changing the name of our church. I would like to change everything over to the new name, but under a brand new set of books. Does anyone know how to go about doing this? The person who originally set up our accounts is no longer here and I would love to simplify them as much as possible. Any help in this would be greatly appreciated! Thanks~WClark

To change the name of the church, just go under File->Preferences->Church Information and make the appropriate changes there. To start your accounting over, you can go into File->Preferences->Accounting Setup and click the button marked "Start Accounting Over." This will allow you to clear out all your existing Accounting information and start over with a new chart of accounts and everything.

When you do change your church name, please give us a call so we can update our records appropriately!

Thank you so much! I was expecting this to be a lot harder. We are planning on changing everything over on Jan. 1, so once we do I will be sending out all of our updated info to everyone! Thanks again, this was a huge cloud hanging over my head, I'm so relieved that it won't be so bad!

Okay...I guess I spoke to soon. I went into File-preferences-accounting setup. There is no Start accounting over anywhere. I have the 8.5 version, do I need to upgrade to the version 9 before Jan. 1 to be able to do this? Thanks again for your help!

Yes, that feature is only in v9. Sorry about the confusion.
