Snap Server 1100 drop outs
Our church is running v9.0 of PC+ across a peer-to-peer network with 5 pc's all using XP Pro. Since moving PC+ from the secretary's pc to a snap server 1100, we have begun to experience intermittant loss of PC+ connectivity to the 1100. It seems to occur when the individual is performing a lengthly data entry process such as posting attendance or contributions. There are other shared files on the 1100 (e.g. our newsletters) which are often open for several hours at a time without a loss of connectivity. I don't know if I have a 1100 issue or a PC+ issue. Any thoughts and suggestions would be appreciated.

I'm not really familiar with the features of that snap server, but it sounds like you may be having some sort of network problem. In a network setup like you have, the PowerChurch executable file resides on the server, and is accessed by each client through the network. That makes things like maintenance releases really easy to apply, since you just have to do it once. However, since the executable is a fairly large file (~12MB, if I remember correctly), any network loss during communication with the server can cause really weird things to happen. Are you getting any error messages? There are usually error messages that accompany this sort of thing.
It could be something as simple as a bad network cable, a failing network card, or just a bad port on a switch or hub. You might want to have a network tech help figure it out.
