subtotal in the income/expense statement
Is there any way to add a subtotal in the income/expense statement where ever I want to?

Subtotaling is controlled by the account levels. Here is an example
Level 4 5500 (group) Utilities
Level 5 5510 (detail) Electricity
Level 5 5520 (detail) Water
Level 5 5530 (detail) Gas
Sub-total Utilities
Level 4 5550 (group) Maintenance
In this example a subtotal will be printed between accounts 5530 and 5550 beacause it goes from a level 5 backup up to a level 4. The higher level account triggers the sub-total for the lower level accounts.
There are a couple of exceptions. If in the example above, account 5510 is the only account that was printing a balance, we wouldn't add a subtotal because there was only one account in the group. The second exception a sub-total is not printed if it is the same as the sub-total before it.
For example:
Level 3 4950 (group) Building expenses
Level 4 5500 (group) Utilities
Level 5 5510 (detail) Electricity
Level 5 5520 (detail) Water
Level 5 5530 (detail) Gas
Sub-total Utilities
*
Level 3 6000 (group) Mission Expenses
*-- Normally a sub-total would print here for building expenses, but because it would be the same as the utilities sub-total it is suppressed.
