Hello PowerChurch forum! We are looking to find a bookkeeper to cover 1-2 times per year for vacations. Is there someone within the PC forum that already has the knowledge and experience of PC and wants a bit of extra cash? Our local accountants that we have been using for years do not have PC knowledge and they are a larger organization. There is no one within our church body with PC experience either so we thought we would reach out here!
We have around 25 employees on the payroll and upload the direct deposit info to our bank. No vacations on the books yet but we are trying to plan ahead so give us a name or names and their contact details!
Also, how would we go about with set-up for that? We are thinking it would be best to have them be an independent consultant since this would only be utilized 1-2 times per year and then send a 1099? We realize it is difficult in that they have access to so much data within PC but not sure what else to do for those extended vacations. Unfortunately, the substitute that we used before and the person that trained me is smiling from above.
Thank you for your assistance and have an amazing day!
Christy

You would definitely want to use them as an independent consultant, you don't want to bring them on as an employee for that. As far as access to data, they really don't need to have any outside of Accounting, and even then you don't have to give them full access. How long would the vacation time be? Using PCplus is not hard, and its fairly easy to teach people how to create an invoice and print a check.christybeth wrote: ↑Thu Jun 27, 2024 4:48 pmHello PowerChurch forum! They shouldn't have access to Contributions, as the same person should not have access to what's coming in and what's going out.

Re: Bookkeeper wanted for vacations
I figured a 1099 would be the best option so thanks for confirming that. No vacation planned at the moment but some day we would love to take an international trip and trying to plan that around payroll and such can be challenging. Payroll is the big one!
We use a different program for our contributions so that would not be an issue. They would have access to employee social security numbers though. We are looking at some options but I thought there may be someone here that wanted a little extra pay. Thanks for your response!

Glad to have assisted.
As an aside: another program for Contributions?? Frankly, I can't understand that, but OK, can you explain why?

Re: Bookkeeper wanted for vacations
I post the contributions within PowerChurch but the actual donor details are tracked in another program. The church has used other programs previously and recently switched to Subsplash since it has more bells and whistles. I have been in this position since 2015 and have not used the contributions portions of PC. I could not tell you when they stopped using it.

I'm located in Florida and would be glad to help during vacation times. I've been using PC+ since I started working for my church in 2019 and am very comfortable with all its applications. Feel free to email any future communications to our church email address of OakGrovePSJ@gmail.com.
Take care,
Diane Pierett

Hello Diane,
Thank you for your response and I will follow up with an email. Funny that you are the second to reach out and they were from Florida as well. Have a great day and take care!
