Why don't the topics that are new or added to show up yellow

Got a question or comment about PowerChurch that doesn't belong anywhere else? Why not post it here!?

Why don't the topics that are new or added to show up yellow

Post by John Dykema »

If I'm at church I can see the new topics with the a yellow icon. When I'm home I don't see any yellow icons by the postings. I used to but why not now. Anyone have a clue?

The yellow icons show new posts, but only on a "per-session" basis. This means if you open the forum page, but don't read any messages, next time you come here, no matter what computer you're on, those messages won't be marked as "new" anymore.

Also, be sure you are logged in at home. As a guest, not being logged in, the forum script doesn't have any way of tracking what posts you have read or not.

Thanks. Just now, I am just logged in under my name and you have replied to me posting but no yellow icon showed up. I know they used to. Thanks for your help.

Here it is, Saturday AM. When I looked, all the new postings were in yellow this time. Wonderful! But, I don't have time to read them all so I'll lose them when I log out. It hasn't worked this way since day 1, has it?

IMHO, too bad they don't stay as "new" until you read them. Why is there an option to click to "mark all as read" if they are going to be "marked" as soon as you log out anyway?
Thanks.

I think I've figured it out.

Formerly, I had bookmarked at the point where I was at the forum screen.
Now I've been testing going to Powerchurch.com and then clicking of FORUM, and walah, each day I see new postings in yellow. Problem solved.
