Using PC Online Locally

Post by tena20719 »

We are heartbroken to hear that the Powerchurch family has been affected by the horrible flooding from the hurricane. Above all we hope that everyone is safe. May God's strength, grace and provision be with you all in the days ahead.

I can't imagine the time it is going to take to recover from this level of damage so I wanted to ask a question for all of the people who are using PC online. Is it possible to restore my online backup (saved to my local computer) to my local version of PC so I can continue to work until restoration takes place?

Any advice you can give is deeply appreciated.

Thanks,
Tena

You would need to have the latest version of Powerchurch, v14.4 on your system for that to work. Previous versions should not allow backups made on newer versions to be restored as there are usually database table changes in the data, that is not available in the older versions.

There has been a new MR released this month, so make sure you update first.

If you have PowerChurch Online, do you have to pay separately for PowerChurch Plus?

The original Powerchurch Plus is installed on a local computer, many people have seen that PC Plus Online is needed as they have people who need access that are not on the local church network so they moved from PC Plus to PC Plus Online. Thus they already have the program.

I don't believe its included with your PC Plus Online subscription.

Good News ... you should have received an email from Michael at Powerchurch that the Powerchurch Online and Empower ChMS servers are back online. You should now be able to use Powerchurch Online normally, but he says there may be some unforeseen disruptions as the area recovers.

Thanks Neil, I appreciating you letting me know.

So glad that they are starting to get some power and services back in the area.
