Contributions Applied to Incorrect Pledge

Post by judyg »

On an individuals's Contribution Statement the amount shown as paid under "Pledge Summary" is $970 while under the "Fund Summary" the amount paid toward this pledge is only $190. When looking at Pledge details under "Maintain Pledges" in the Contribution tab, I see that 12 donations made in 1999 were applied to the 2013 pledge. In 1999 this person did not pledge. I cannot figure out how to prevent these 12 donations from being applied to this pledge.

Thank you for any assistance.

Judy ... these contributions from 1999 should NOT have appeared anywhere near the 2013 pledge summary, as the dates are outside the parameters of the report, which I'm assuming is the 1st quarter 2013.

Before you do anything else, i would run a REINDEX of the database to make sure that the database is indexed properly. Then run the Contribution Statement report again,

One thing that can cause this is when there is a previous pledge that is modified to a new date. Sometimes it will carry the contributions applied to that previous pledge forward to the new pledge. An example would be that the person did have a 1999 pledge to the same contribution fund that was modified for the 2013 date instead of creating a new pledge for 2013. If you go to the View Posted Contributions screen, locate the envelope in question, open the detail for each of those 1999 contributions that say pledge in the pledge column, you can tell those contributions to not be applied to a pledge. There is a check box you can click to make this choice.
