release accounts

Post by treasurer4tbc »

When writing a check and attempting to release funds, the account does not appear in the list. There is an equity account, income account and release account set up properly. At first the income account was not checked that is a release account but even after checking, the account still does not show up in the list. Any thoughts?

Were these accounts created using the Maintain List of Donor Restrictions? If not, the system doesn't know a thing about them.

If the Restricted Fund was created using the Maintain List of Donor Restrictions, it would be there. However, you CAN set it up again, and when the system walks you through the setup, each 'page' will have a check box with Use existing account (Select from above). Check that box, and then select the accounts you already have setup for Fund Balance, Income & Release. The expense account is optional so you don't have to select or create any there.
