Budget Amendment

Post by sonyatch »

I'm still searching for a way to enter a budget amendment so that it is easily seen at the close of year (and throughout the year).

I'm trying to come up with an entry that would increase my account balance and I could say Budget Amendment in the description. I know I could credit said account but any suggestions for the balancing entry?

Or does anyone have a method other than just editing the chart of accounts that works for them??

You shouldn't be 'crediting' and 'debiting' anything to any account. The budget is not used to calculate anything other than for reports to show how much over or under budget your spending is. You update the budget using the budget entry function. Any 'changes' to the budget are documented in the monthly church board/session minutes.
