I have posed this question to support, but since it is after hours I thought someone here might be able to assist.
I am trying to help my church convert/upgrade to PC ver 10. Prior to this ver 9 was in use without problems. We have a total of 5 Dell workstations running Windows XP sp2.
Some time in the past year my church received ver10. It was installed (maybe only partially installed) on the main workstation, but not the others. For whatever reason the other PCs were not loaded with v10 and everyone continued to use version 9.
I was asked to install v10 on all workstations. I did that but found that when I ran PC v10, the database accessed by the new v10 installs was different (not current) from the data base used with v9.
I suspect that the a new data base was created when v10 was first installed, but at the same time there remained a v9 database also. In the ensuing months the v9 data base received the updates to membership changes, etc.
Can you confirm, or how can I confirm, that this is what has occurred?
How do I delete the v10 data base, and then convert or merge the v9 database into a format that can be used with v10? Perhaps delete and reinstall v10?

conversion problems
I am having similar problem. I have been using v9 and my boss apparently put v10.4 on and it didn't move my current information. My mailing labels were old and it didn't move my current contibutions. I tried to restore my contributions and it wouldn't accept v9 restore. So do I have to re-enter all the way back from April contributions, or is there a way to get the recent ones in? Please help.

The same process as described above should work. Delete the entire V10 folder then reinstall V10. It will automatically look for previous versions and import your data. You will then have to download and install the latest Maint. Release to upgrade to V10.4. If you have put recent data into V10.4 that is not in the current V9 you will loose that data. If this is the case. Make a backup of the V10.4 data before you delete the folder. You can then selectively restore the data that is correct.
