How do you all handle payments made from member for such things as luncheons, flowers, etc...
I am very very new to this. So far I set the items up as a separate fund; however, if I enter these under the member name, won't these items go on their statement at the end of the year? I hate to enter them as Misc. or anonymous because I won't be able to track who paid.
Thanks for your input!

What I do, and others using PC+ do, is to create a set of contribution fund numbers well above the numbers you are currently using, in my case 501 and up, for non-deductible contributions. You can give each a description to suite your needs, and when you print contribution statements you set your top fund number below the first non-deductible fund number.

Use the AR Module Instead
I have similar situation in our church. We have a school that is part of the church but receives its own funding (income directly from customers). I do payroll for both the Church staff and School staff. At payroll time, the School director gives me a check for their gross payroll amount. I didn’t want to show this as contribution income (as it was more of a pass thru than anything). I use the AR module instead. I set the school up as a customer. At payroll time, I create an invoice for the gross payroll amount and then I use the check they gave me and record that as payment against the invoice.
I use this same method for other things as well: 1) Martial arts class operated by a member who gives us money for “rental” of the church, 2) record income from Kroger shopping cards which earn us money from use, 3) etc.
