Maintain Custom Codes

Post by Sammy »

I'm new to Powerchurch and my question is what are the existing codes of (F M S) in Personal Status. I understand how to create new ones etc. but what does the F, M, and S stand for?

It does not sound like those are standard codes. PowerChurch Plus installs with the following Personal Status codes:

Deceased
Friend of Congregation
Member - Active
Member - Inactive
Non-Member - Active
Non-Member - Inactive
Visitor

Much older versions of the program (versions 6.2 and prior, if memory serves) use single letter codes, rather than the full text options you are seeing now. Your codes may have been converted up through multiple upgrades.

The basis program comes with those preloaded when you install a fresh version. If you've been using Powerchurch since before version 7, those single code statuses have been migrated through each version. Any update will not add additional codes, it will only use what you have in the database being migrated.

What I would do is try to figure out what the codes mean by looking to see what a known member is set to, then a family member, and so on.

I would then go into the Maintain Custom Codes under the Personal Profiles module, and change the single letter codes to something more descriptive. By changing the codes there, it will then display the changes on the profiles.

Hope this helps.
