Fund Access

We are trying to delete an unsed fund which still shows in our chart of accounts report but it does not show on the maintain chart of accounts window. We need to gain access in the maintain account window to clear links to the fund. When we try to delete the fund we receive warning message that there is still account activity present and therefore we cannot totaly delete the fund. Does anyone know what would prevent the fund from showing in the maintain chart of accounts window? We are running version 10.

If the accounts had zero balances and were inactive, they would no longer show on the chart of accounts report. Being inactive would also keep them from being accidentally posted to in the future.

If there is posted transaction history or a beginning balance on an individual account, it can not be deleted from the system.

In the future, once it has been long enough since the account was used, if you decide to delete old data, to clear out some accounting transaction history, chances are, the fund could be deleted, since the historical transactions would have been deleted and the beginning balance would then be zero.
