Offline access to Membership Info

Hello We have PowerChurch set up on a network. The server computer is mine (secretary), but when the ministers leave the building with their laptops, they can no longer access the membership information. Is there a way for them to access that info offlin

Right, because the system is on the network, and the database resides on your computer. Depending on what they want to know, they could just use one of the standard reports, and save it to disk as a MS Word document.

Otherwise, the only other way is for them to install stand alone copies of Powerchurch on their laptops, then do a backup of your database and restore to those stand alone directories.

However, there are problems with that as it could cause confusion when they are in the office, and they select the wrong Powerchurch location. Not to mention that any changes they may do to the stand alone systems, would not be transferred to the main database.

An alternative is if they have a PDA, they could use Pocket Powerchurch to export much of the membership info they would need. There are now versions for both PALM and Windows CE operating systems.
