With at least one person's email address in our Membership database, I can send an individual email through PowerChurch, but his address isn't even listed when I send a bulk email. "Include in bulk mailings" is checked, and the email address is a good one.
This both a mystery and very frustrating. Can anyone help?

This could be for a number of reasons.hig wrote:With at least one person's email address in our Membership database, I can send an individual email through PowerChurch, but his address isn't even listed when I send a bulk email. When you are selecting persons to receive the bulk email, are you qualifying the selection using the option screen ??
The reason you can send a separate email to him alone, is that for a single email, Powerchurch does not use its internal mail system, but links to the email program on your computer. For bulk emails, the system first asks if you want to filter by certain options. Its possible that this filtering could be 'weeding' out this person.

That sounds rather drastic, but as long as you feel you won't lose data. Problem is if you delete the personal profile, without having someone else on the contribution envelope number, you can lose the contributions data.hig wrote:No, I'm not filtering at all. Today, I'm going to try deleting his entire entry and re-entering it. Perhaps that will get him back in the bulk email queue?
I'd try first deleting the email address, save the change, then go back and re-enter the address, save it, then run a test of bulk mail and look at the list of email addresses to be used to see if that address turns up.
if that doesn't work, then if you can wait until Monday or Tuesday, one of the Powerchurch programmers may have an idea.

Another possible reason someone might not be included is the include in membership module reports option on the family mailing list. This will also keep someone from being included in a bulk mailing.
We decided to filter on this even when e-mailing, because we were afraid someone would run a report to check which people are going to be included and then when e-mailing they would get a different set of people.

This person had no envelope number, because he is a visitor and has made no contributions thus far. I tried deleting the email address, saving, and even exiting PowerChurch before I re-entered the email address to no avail. Then he sent me a different email address to use, and I entered and saved it. Still no success.
I did delete his entile file this morning, first in Personal Profiles, then in Integarted Data Entry. I exited PowerChurch, re-entered PowerChurch, and then re-entered his data.
When I then created a test message and checked the list of addresses to which it would be sent, his address was at last on the list. I think (I hope) the problem is solved, but I surely wonder why it was so persistent and resisted even the addition of a completely different email address. Strange.
Thanks to those of you who responded for your suggestions. They were logical, and I had already tried all of them. This particular problem seemed to require an illogical solution!
