Contributions-Reports

Post by mannabible »

Hello fellow P.C. users;

I want to edit the layout for the "All Contributions Statement" report. I am not finding the report designer toolbar, and I have looked all over P.C. for the toolbar. Can you help me?

This is a fixed report and cannot be modified. What exactly are you trying to change?

Thank you for responding.
The contributions report currently prints each contributions in one column for each contributor. To save paper I want the report to print in three columns with details. PC supposedly has a feature where from my understanding reports can be re-formatted. The feature is named "Report Designer." I have not found the location of the report designer. Also, I've tried using custom reports to create query that produces a similar report. But, I have not been able to locate the custom reports toolbars. I hope I'm clear about what I'm trying to do, and look forward to your response.

The report designer is designed to be used with Custom Reports only. It cannot reformat the standard, built-in reports.

The Contribution reports do have four different formats:

1. Full Fund details - which gives a breakdown of all the different contributions given each day. This is the longest of the reports.

2. Daily Amounts - this will list the total amounts given in a three column format, with a fund summary total at the end of the report. This is more concise, but does not give full details.

3. Summary Report - just gives the totals for all contribution funds contributed to.

4. Total Only - just the total given by the contributor, no breakdown of any kind.

FWIW ... trying to recreate the contribution reports using Custom Reports can be very difficult. Once you setup the selection criteria, and run the file, you can then 'edit the form' of the report. However you will not be able to do any report formatting until you create the query to pull the data.

What we used to send out a quarterly report, we then moved to a 4 month report including only the prior 4 months of details. At the end of the year we issued a full report listing a full 12 months of details.

We made a conscious decision that while it may take more paper, in the interests of full disclosure, we always printed the full detailed report for the contributor.

Hope this helps.
