I was reading the manual on how to transfer money, but it is talking about fund to fund...
We only have one fund - 01
I need to transfer money from our 01-1110-000 general checking account to
our 01-1311-000 general savings account.
Do I need to do the four step process involving the transfer to other funds and transfer from other funds accounts?
Also, we pay our checks manually, but I need to actually write a check to move this money because it is at different banks.
What is the best way to accomplish this?
Thanks!
Deanne

Re: Transfering money from checking to savings
Two steps will do it.
01-1110-000 (credit) $500
01-1311-000 (debit) $500
Since you will be hand-writing the check it doesn't really matter if you enter this directly in Accounts Payable or skip that step and enter it into Fund Accounting.
