I upgraded to version 9 and for some strange reason it's moving a lot slower than version 8.5. For example, whenever you attempt to "Locate" someone in the table, you'll see the word "Indexing" in the top right corner for at least 30 secs, it then disappears, and you're finally able to search. Also, whenever the DataEntry is imputting money and they don't know the envelope #, they must click on the search button and it dispalys the same thing. I thought that maybe it was the Norton Enterprise edition, but I adjusted its settings and it still performing slow; especially when 2 or more people are accessing it. Please help because it's slowing down my data entry team.

The Locates in PC+ 9 can now sort and search any column. To handle this a small file is created in the default temp folder with an additional *.CDX file also located in the default temp folder.
To assist your contribution data entry performance, Under File, Preferences, Contribution Setup goto the "Contribution Data Entry" tab and set the "Contribution data entry envelope number lookup method:" to "Find". This adds one extra step, but dramatically reduces the amount of names brought down from the server. When the data entry presses the F2 key or clicks the Magnifying glass next to the Env# text box, a Find dialog will open, enter a couple of letters of the last name, press Enter a couple of times and a Locate screen with a limited number of members will appear.
If you are experiencing a drastic slowdown using the Integrated Data Entry (IDE) or Family Mailing list screens, we are working to get a maintenance release out for that problem. We are also investigating ways to increase the speeds of the Locates through the system.
