03/20/2012 - Version 11 Maintenance Release
A new Maintenance Release dated 03/20/2012 has been released for Version 11.
The program will automatically download and install this update by going to Help > Download Maintenance Release, or you can manually download and install the Maintenance Release installer by visiting http://powerchurch.com/mr in your web browser.
The following changes were made in this Maintenance Release:
Membership
- Added family e-mail to Update Outlook Contacts
- All Dates selection returns "No records selected" on Details of Personal Attendance report
- "Cannot update the cursor" error message when running the Active Profiles report for selected activities
Accounting
- Income & Expense By Month report exports double spaced Excel file with certain printers installed
- HST percentage fields expanded to allows 3 decimal places
- Bing Maps defaults to US country when mapping Accounts Payable vendors
- Added Tax ID to 1099 Vendors report
- Direct Deposit account number field not long enough for some banks
- $0 Payroll check will not post
- Employee SSN can be truncated to one digit in custom reports
- Updated 941 form for 2012
- YTD amounts on Payroll check stubs calculate as of today instead of check date
Contributions
- Added warning about missing account numbers when posting Contributions
- Repeating Contributions allow blank date
Other
- Extended field lengths where 99 would show as ** with large fonts displayed

This Maintenance Release resolves the following issues:
Membership
- Further improved photo quality on printed reports
- Send e-mail message to a group in Family Mailing List prints labels addressed to Household Key name instead of Mailing Name
Contributions
- Contribution summary line is shown on Attendance Summary graph on the family, regardless of user access permissions
- Monthly Contribution Totals report includes summary of all funds, regardless of fund selection
- Canadian Tax Receipt history is not properly tracking total amount on summary layout receipts
- Repeating Contributions allows blank date
Accounting
- Income & Expense By Month generates a double-spaced Excel file if you have certain printers installed
- Bing Maps defaults Accounts Payable vendor country to US
- Added Tax ID to 1099 Vendors report in AP
- $0 Payroll check will not post
- Reprint check stub layout in Payroll is not exactly the same as the original check stub layout
- Updated 941 form for 2012
- Payroll Salary History report does not properly filter out ex-employees
- Payroll check stubs calculate YTD amounts as of today, not check date
Other
- Automated Backup process does not always include version number in the zip file
- HTTPS web addresses will not launch in PC Online, making the background checks not work properly
- Increased several field sizes to allow for large font displays (was showing ** instead of 99)

The IRS announced yesterday that the 4.2% tax rate on employee Social Security has officially been extended through the end of 2012.

12/29/2011 - Version 11 Maintenance Release
A new Maintenance Release dated 12/28/2011 has been released for Version 11.
The program will automatically download and install this update by going to Help > Download Maintenance Release, or you can manually download and install the Maintenance Release installer by visiting http://powerchurch.com/mr in your web browser.
The following changes were made in this Maintenance Release:
- Maintenance Release installer hangs at 100% for up to 30 minutes before completing installation
- View Posted Transactions in Fund Accounting does not show accounting year if all months in that year are closed
- Contribution designations are not displayed properly on statements after contribution is reversed and re-entered.

12/21/2011 - Version 11.5 Maintenance Release
A new Maintenance Release dated 12/21/2011 has been released for Version 11.5.
The program will automatically download and install this update by going to Help > Download Maintenance Release, or you can manually download and install the Maintenance Release installer by visiting http://powerchurch.com/mr in your web browser.
The following changes were made in this Maintenance Release:
* Electronic Filing of W2s *
PowerChurch Software has integrated state and federal e-filing of W2s in Version 11.5. The printing and mailing of the employees’ copies is also available. Certain states now require that you e-file, so it was imperative to roll out this functionality before the end of the year.
If this turns out to be a popular feature, it is possible that we could integrate the 1099-MISC and 941 e-filing services as well, but currently, only the W2 e-file is available for PowerChurch Software users.
Since this service is processed by a third party, it will require that you create an account on their site. The W2 data is transferred automatically from PowerChurch Plus for a seamless e-filing process.
With PowerChurch E-File, the pricing is very straight-forward and is documented on the page linked below. You only pay for the services you use.
