12/06/2011 - Version 11 Maintenance Release


A new Maintenance Release dated 12/06/2011 has been released for Version 11.

The program will automatically download and install this update by going to Help > Download Maintenance Release, or you can manually download and install the Maintenance Release installer by visiting http://powerchurch.com/mr in your web browser.

The following changes were made in this Maintenance Release:

Activities & Skills

  • Offices Served allows overlapping dates

Contributions

  • Users of Kaspersky antivirus report an error when using the envelope number lookup in Contributions
  • Error when using Contribution Fund lookup in Contributions Mailing Labels
  • Added Posting Method to the View Posted Contributions > Details screen
  • Import Contributions with European date format (DD/MM) does not import the correct dates

Fund Accounting

  • Cash Management report includes zero or negative liabilities inconsistently
  • Budget reports do not consistently show the appropriate list of accounting years in selection screens
  • Detailed Changes in Equity report "Include unposted transactions" check box does not refresh properly

Payroll

  • California Tax Table updated to allow low income deduction
  • Non-taxable employees included in the count of employees on 941
  • Paid employees whose net amount is $0 are not included in count of employees on 941
  • Blank/empty tax tables are converted from prior versions with data problems
  • Numeric Overflow error if amount calculation is over a million dollars
  • Added direct deposit account information to the add employee assistant
  • Time Off Report does not include time off that begins before the start date but ends after the start date of the report

Accounts Receivable

  • Balance Forward shows on every page of Account Statements

Events

  • Google Sync can create duplicate events

Custom Reports

  • Personal Profile Website fields added to Custom Report query selections

OneBody Sync

  • OneBody Sync errors if C:ProgramData directory is hidden


11/28/2011 - Check In Maintenance Release


A new Maintenance Release for the PowerChurch Check In system has been published, dated 11/28/2011.

There are no longer separate installers for kiosk and server components. The kiosks will update automatically after connecting to the server the first time.

This release contains following fixes:

  • Error message occurs when running the Allergy Report
  • When adding a new family and checking in a child, not all labels will print
  • When checking in a non-family member, the number of bags prompt is not displayed


11/22/2011 - Version 10 Maintenance Release


A new Maintenance Release dated 11/21/2010 was published for Version 10/10.4:

The following changes were made in this release:

Family Mailing List

  • Family Notes not available as a selection in Custom Reports
  • Importing Accounting Transaction dates incorrect if using European dates
  • Church Directory - Booklet format - Unnecessary page break

Contributions

  • Import Contributions does not import dates properly if first row contains field names
  • Import Contributions does not import dates properly if using European dates
  • Import Contributions - Confirmation step - if bad envelope number or fund number, should only need to update the information once, not for every item in the list
  • Pledge Statement shows an error message if an unknown envelope number is included
  • Monthly Messenger file does not always include pledge info

Fund Accounting

  • Budget reports do not allow next year budgets when working month is current year
  • Monthly Budget Amounts report will exclude account with positive and negative budget amounts that equal zero

Accounts Payable

  • Box 17 on the 1099-MISC form is not populated when adding a new form
  • Updated 1099-MISC form for 2011

Payroll

  • Updated W2 form for 2011

Events

  • Possible error message (C0000005) when viewing calendar with lots of events

Backup & Restore

  • Access Denied OLE error when user does not have rights to burn CD

Passwords

  • Error on program startup if there is a space at the beginning of user name


11/21/2011 - Version 11.5 Maintenance Release


A maintenance release dated 11/18/2011 has been published for Version 11.5. The program can automatically download and install this release if you go to Help > Download Maintenance Release, or you can manually download and install the file by visiting http://www.powerchurch.com/mr.

Below is a list of changes made in this maintenance release:

Attendance

  • Add Person lookup under Fast Data Entry does not have incremental search
  • No table is open error when saving changes on the Attendance tab of Maintain Personal Profiles

Visitations

  • Families Not Visited report - Default date range changed to This Year (was Today)
  • Families Not Visited report - Visit Area shows "Code XX not known"
  • Visitations custom codes (purpose, method) not converted

Contributions

  • Funds Report - Amount of designations doubled in report total
  • Import Contributions - European date format will import with the wrong year
  • Custom Reports are missing the alternate email field from Personal Profiles

Fund Accounting

  • Cash Management Report consistent reporting of zero or negative liabilities
  • Detailed Changed in Equity report - Include Unposted check box is not set in Refresh Report Options

Accounts Receivable

  • Account Statement report - Balance Forward is shown on every page
  • Account Statement report - All dates selection returns no results


11/18/2011 - New video added


A new video has been added to the Knowledge Base and the PowerChurch Software YouTube channel. Version 11.5 features a redesigned Add Family Assistant. It is now quicker than ever to add a family and individuals on the fly.

11/10/2011 - Increased Support and Server Traffic


Today's planned upgrade of the PowerChurch Online servers to Version 11.5 has increased the server load to a critical level. Many users are reporting very slow server performance along with error messages during the conversion process. Because of this, Technical Support representatives and our phone system is overloaded as well.

The current rush on the servers will eventually thin out and things will get back to normal. If you have not yet been through the upgrade, or are experiencing problems with the upgrade process, it is suggested that you try again at a later time, once the "traffic jam" has had a chance to thin out some.

We apologize for the inconvenience and are working to get through the list of calls and e-mails about these problems.

  • Alt e-mail address not available in custom reports

Activities & Skills

  • Offices Served should not allow overlapping dates served

Accounts Payable

  • MISC and VOID vendor names on manual checks not shown in posted transactions

Payroll

  • California State Tax - Low Income Exemption added
  • 941 - Non-tax employees included in count of employees in certain scenarios
  • 941 - Employees with $0 net income are not included in count of employees (giving 100% to contributions, for example)


11/07/2011 - New videos added


There are three new videos previewing some new features in Version 11.5. They are available on the PowerChurch Software YouTube channel and have also been added to the Knowledge Base on our site.



10/05/2011 - Check In Maintenance Release


A new Maintenance Release for the PowerChurch Check In system has been published, dated 10/05/2011. There are no longer separate installers for kiosk and server components. The kiosks will update automatically after connecting to the server the first time. www.powerchurch.com/mr This release contains following fixes and new features:

  • Bar code shows in name field after checking in
  • Problems when using short (less than four digits) Activity numbers
  • File access problems can cause 0 CheckInID in data, which can't be checked out
  • Possible to have "Checked in by: " showing on sign out sheet
  • Assign a bar code feature now properly handles assigning an existing bar code to a new person
  • Problems moving kiosks from local Check In to PowerChurch Online Check In
  • Bar code scanning does not work in self serve mode
  • Kiosk connection times out when switching from Self Serve to Manned Mode
  • You can now add allergy, medication, and medical condition information from the kiosk
  • Pager number added to the Check In Roster report
  • Kiosk installer (pc11kiosk.exe) is now included in the MR update and is copied to the server directory. If you have a kiosk that won't update, or need to install on a new kiosk, install file is available on server.
