Problems When Multiple Dymo Printers Are Installed

When installing the DYMO LabelWriter 450 and you already have a DYMO LabelWriter 400 installed, the 450 may not appear in the list of DYMO printers in the Check In Kiosk Setup. The DYMO LabelWriter program installation was successful, but did not register a file which is needed.

To correct this, you will need to be in a CMD prompt with administrative privileges. I have seen the Dymo software installed in multiple places. The quickest way to find the path we are looking for is with the following command:

DIR C:\DLS7 *.* /s/b

You will see a command similar to this:

In this example type the following command:

REGSVR32 "C:\Program Files\DYMO\DYMO Label Software\DLS 7 Compatibility Library\DLS7_SDKCompatibilityLib.dll"

You should get a dialog similar to this:

Close the CMD prompt and restart the Check In Kiosk and the DYMO LabelWriter 450 should be visible.
