Difference in postings between Fund Accounting and Account Activity

Post by LesleyAnn »

Hi Good Evening,

I am a new user of Power Church version 11.5. However, our church has been using this software for a while. The issue I am having is this: a journal entry was made to record income debiting cash and crediting the various income accounts - the entry was posted. I run the journal entry report and I can see the entry posted. However, when I run the account activity report for the cash account - I don't see the amount posted/recorded with the journal entry reflected on the that report. How do correct this? I would like to use the account activity report to do the bank reconciliations.

Thank you for your help!

You shouldn't need the report to do Reconciliations, there's a separate function that you can use, and its much easier to use.

That said, what module did that entry come from? Contributions? Manually entered in Funds Accounting? You talk about a 'cash' account, is that the checking or savings?

FWIW ... Version 11.5 of Powerchurch is no longer being supported with updates. You may want to think about upgrading to the latest version.

hi Neil, thank you for your response.

What do we need to do in order to upgrade to the latest version of Power Church?

My entry was entered manually in the Funds Accounting module. It is a checking account.
What function should I use to do my reconciliations?

Thanks,
Lesley

To upgrade, just head to this page: https://www.powerchurch.com/products/pcplus/?id=160 and select the upgrade option to do this online, and download the upgrade immediately.

The function you will use is the Accounting -> Fund Accounting -> Reconcile Bank/Credit Card Accounts.
