02/20/2013 - Version 11.5 Maintenance Release
A new Maintenance Release dated 02/20/2013 has been released for Version 11.5.
The program will automatically download and install this update by going to Help > Download Maintenance Release, or you can manually download and install the Maintenance Release installer by visiting http://www.powerchurch.com/mr in your web browser.
This Maintenance Release resolves the following issues:
Accounting
- FA - Close to account is not required to be in the same fund
- AP - 1099-MISC e-file requires Account Number
- AR - Repeating invoice should fill in Next Release Date if Last Day of Month box is checked.
- AR - Overpayment can be applied to the same invoice
- AR - Credit items (negative amounts) not calculated properly in payments
- AR - Line description in Fund Accounting transaction is inconsistent
- PR - Access Only user permissions not respected in some forms
- PR - Increased employer e-mail address field length on W2 form
- PR - Oregon state tax calculation methods have changed
- PR - 941 year is automatically selected based on what year 941 form is in the program
Membership
- AT - Following a specific series of steps can cause previous attendance dates to be overwritten
- GE - OLE Exception Code 0 error when sending e-mails - Upgraded e-mail component
- GE - DOCTYPE declaration in HTML e-mail header is invalid

The following changes were made in this Maintenance Release:
- Contribution Range Report now allows you to define dollars and cents ranges
- W3 form should exclude totals from Box 12 code DD

This Maintenance Release resolves the following issues:
- Contribution Range Report excludes contributions in between whole dollar amounts
- Contribution Range Report now allows you to define dollars and cents ranges
- W3 form should exclude totals from Box 12 code DD
01/02/2013 - New Payroll Tax Rates For 2013
The IRS has posted new tax rates for 2013. The notice can be found here http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/n1036.pdf
You will need to update your tax tables in PowerChurch with the new rates. The employee portion of social security is going back to 6.2%.
There is one change that will require a calculation change. Medicare now has an additional .9% withholding on amounts over $200,000. This is going to require some changes in the program to support this. We are evaluating what changes need to be made and will address this in a future maintenance release.
12/26/2012 - Version 11 Maintenance Release

The following changes were made in this Maintenance Release:
General
- Blank or negative value causes blank pie graph
- Forms need to resize and center rather than opening off the edge of the screen
- .NET 2 runtimes required for Windows 8 users in Backup & Restore
- Better error handling when importing pictures of unsupported formats
- Removed checks for supported paper size and print spooler errors from reporting system
Membership
- Include in Membership Module Reports setting is ignored on PowerChurch Today display
- Added Locate By E-mail option on Family Mailing List/Integrated Data Entry
- Missing Expression error on date range selections
- Class Promotion doesn't update the Date Joined when moving to new activity
- Can record attendance for an unknown activity
- Consecutive Absentee report only includes last attended date if within the date range of the report
Contributions
- Unused envelope numbers report now highlights unknown envelopes, where posted history exists, but envelope not assigned to anyone in Membership
- Preformatted bank deposit slip includes all contribution types
Accounting
- Chart of Accounts Budgeted Accounts report ignores active/inactive account settings
- An option has been added to print church name and address on payroll stubs
- Better error handling for generating 941 PDF form

- Invalid data (negative, zero) causes pie graph to disappear

- Added option to show church name in title bar (for those maintaining multiple PowerChurch installs for different organizations)
Membership
- Consecutive Absentee report shows last attended date only if within the selected date range of the report
- Added Locate by e-mail address to Integrated Data Entry and Maintain Family Mailing List screens
- Missing Expression error on Selection Criteria screens in Personal Profiles
Contributions
- Contribution Statements report profile saved as default not loading automatically
- Preformatted bank deposit slip total includes all contribution types
- Add Contributor from Check Reader screen now uses new Add Family Assistant

11/05/2012 - 2012 W2 Form Compatibility
W2 forms for the 2012 tax year are supported in PowerChurch Plus Versions 10.4 and higher. To be sure you have the most up-to-date layouts, download the latest Maintenance Release for your version at http://www.powerchurch.com/mr or from within PowerChurch Plus by going to Help > Download Maintenance Release.
Additional functionality is available in later versions of PowerChurch Plus. The ability to list multiple state wages and withholding on the W2 was added in Version 11. PowerChurch Plus Version 11.5 added e-filing of state and federal W2s/W3s through a third party service. For more information about these and other features added over the years in PowerChurch Plus, visit http://www.powerchurch.com/changes.
Reporting Cost of Employer-Sponsored Health Coverage
For the 2012 tax year, certain organizations are now required to report the cost of employer-sponsored health coverage on W2 forms in Box 12, using Code DD. These amounts are not taxable. When processing W2s through PowerChurch Plus, you can edit the information on the screen preview of the forms prior to printing or e-filing. This would be the appropriate place to enter the amounts for employer-sponsored health coverage for each employee, if necessary.
