Merging Duplicate Customers (Versions 12 and higher)


Occasionally you may discover two records within PowerChurch Plus for the same customer. This might occur if someone pays you for a one time job under the name Bob Smith and starts recurring payments under the name Robert Smith. In reality, there are many possible causes of this problem. And, luckily, PowerChurch contains handy features that simplify this process of combining these records without losing their payment history.

  1. First of all, use the PowerChurch Plus Backup feature located under the Utilities menu to make a backup copy of Accounting data. You may choose to backup All Data Files as an extra precaution.
  2. Start by navigating to Accounting > Accounts Receivable > Setup and Merge Customers.
  3. Next, read the warning and select the customers you wish to merge. When sure of your selection click OK to finalize the merge.
  4. Success! You have merged two customers. Navigate back to the Maintain Customers menu to check your work.
